Abstract A convenient one pot synthesis of ethyl 3, 4-dihydro-2-methyl-3-oxo-2H-1, 4- benzoxazine-2-carboxylates and 3, 4-dihydro-2-methyl-3-oxo-2H-pyrido [3, 2-b]-1, 4- oxazine-2-carboxylates and their conversion into the respective carboxylic acids are described.
