Abstract

Compound 44 underwent the usual Mannich-type reaction, affording 3-and 8-substituted 3, Cdihydro-W-pyrido [2, 3-h]-1, 3-benzoxazines 58-61 (Table VIII). Compound 44 was also prepared from 2-chloro-5methoxyaniline by using the same series of reactions. This scheme is discussed in detail in a previous paper. 4
