Abstract

Abstract From the work of R. Kuhn et al. it appeared that brominated derivatives of salicil have a high anti-bacterial activity in vitro, but that in vivo they show only little activity as a result of serum-binding. Base-substituted phenols are usually bound by serum to a smaller extent. Therefore, an amino-substituted bromo-salicil was synthesized. A water soluble derivative of this compound was also prepared.
