Abstract

The flavonol myricetin, reacts with oxygen-centred galvinoxyl radicals 28 times faster than d- α-tocopherol (vitamin E), the main lipid-soluble antioxidant in biological membranes. Moreover, each myricetin molecule reduces twice as many such radicals as vitamin E.
