Abstract

The reaction of phenyl (trihalomethy1) mercury compounds with azodicarboxylate esters in benzene at SO" gives hydrazonodihalomethanes of type (ROzC) zNN= CX*(X= C1 and/or Br). Sodium trichloroacetate reacts similarly, giving the same type of product (X= Cl).
