Abstract Various ring-methoxylated 1-phenyl-2-propanols and 1-phenyl-2-propanones were synthesized and pharmacologically evaluated. Most compounds had depressantlike activity. The ketones were readily reduced by rabbit liver microsomes. No reductase activity was found in rat and mouse liver preparations.
