The reaction 5-benzylidene-2, 3, 4, 5-tetrahydropyridine (1) with nucleophilic reagents, such as sodium tetrahydroborate, lithium tetrahydridoaluminate, organometallic reagents, pyrrole, or ethyl propiolate, has been studied.
