As part of a systematic study of the chemistry of bis (4-chloro-3-nitrophenyl) sulfone a group of bis (4-alkoxy-and 4-aryloxy-3-nitrophengl) sulfones (Table I) and some corresponding 3- amino compounds (Table 11) which have potential physiological interest have been synthesized.
