Abstract

Abstract The reaction between Me 2 SnCl 2 and the ligand 2-MeOC 6 H 4 N CHC 5 H 4 N- 2 in ethanol affords the monomeric (1: 1) complex Me 2 SnCl 2·(2-MeOC 6 H 4 N CHC 5 H 4 N-2). An X-ray diffraction study has shown that the tin atoms has a distorted octahedral co- ordination with trans-methyl groups. The methoxy oxygen of the ligand remains uncoordinated. The Sn N bond lengths are> 2.39 Å.
