Abstract When isopropylcarbonylthiocyanate and isothiocyanate are formed from isopropylchloroformate and alkalirhodanides, rhodanide ions and ion pairs react simultaneously. The rate constants with SCN−-ions (ki) and with ion pairs MSCN (sk ip) have been determined at various temperatures and with different alkali ions.
