Abstract

The most stable conformation of vinylstannane has one of the Sn-H bonds synperiplanar to the double bond. The C (sp2)-Sn (IV) bond length re is 214.1 (6) pm and the CCSn bond angle is 121.6 (4)°. Two conformations, anticlinal and synperiplanar, are predicted for allylstannane by quantum chemical calculations.
