Abstract

C, R= 3-CH, d, R 2 4-CH3 FVP of la, IC, and Id at 650" C gave only the deoxygenated analogues 2a, 2c, and 2d, with 60-91% of the starting materials recovered. At 800" C these same products were accompanied by unidentified low molecular weight products: with almost complete conversion of starting materials. FVP of Id at 800 OC also gave 22% of 2- cyanomethyl-4-picoline (3), formed by a pathway that c H3
