Abstract

Experimental 2-Chloroethyl Methyl Ketone (I).--Paraformaldehyde (240 g., 8 moles) suspended by stirring in refluxing acetone 11 174 ml., 16 moles) was treated with dry hydrogen chloride: it such a rate as to maintain boiling of the mixture.
