Abstract

Sn-Beta zeolite is employed as catalyst in the Baeyer–Villiger oxidation of aromatic aldehydes. Aldehydes involving alkoxy substituents are oxidized to the corresponding formate ester which are hydrolyzed to the corresponding phenols.
