Abstract A practical, efficient, and inexpensive method for the synthesis of 2-imidazoline from the reaction of nitriles with ethylenediamine or 1, 2-propanediamine using p-toluenesulfonic acid or pyridinium p-toluenesulfonate under reflux conditions is reported.
