Abstract

Described herein is the enantioselective synthesis of multisubstituted biaryl derivatives by chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed asymmetric bromination. Two asymmetric reactions (desymmetrization and kinetic resolution) proceeded successively to afford chiral biaryls in excellent enantioselectivities (up to 99% ee).
