Abstract

R= H, CHs; R,= H, E, Cl. CHaO; R~= H, NO,. Under the conditions in which the~ onium salts II were prepared, there was the possibility of the formation of diimidazole sulfides and disulfides. Reaction of the 5-brominesubstituted imidazole I (R= CHa, R,= R2= H) with the ammonium salt IId in ethanol afforded the diimidazolyl sulfide, IV.
