Abstract

Since the major product is the 1-isomer, it would be expected that the minor product, 11, would be the 3-isomer. Reduction of I1 with Raney nickel and low pressure hydrogen gave an amine melting at 195-200". It is interesting to note that hydrogen and platinum did not give clean results, though Raney nickel and hydrogen did.
