Abstract: o-Aminophenol reacts with a number of halo-and organophosphazenes in boiling xylene to yield bis-(o-phenyleneoxyamino)-2-aminophenoxyphosphorane (111) and ammonium halide or ammonia. This ring cleavage reaction occurs with (NPCIZ)~,(NPCI&,( NPC12) 15, W0,(NPBr&,(NPFJ,, and with certain organocyclotriphosphazenes which contain a five-membered cyclic side unit attached to phosphorus.
