Abstract An efficient green condensation reaction has been developed for synthesis of trans- isoindigo derivatives using SBA-Pr-SO 3 H with pore size of 6 nm as a heterogeneous nanoporous acid catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Isoindigo derivatives have many industrial applications, eg, dyes, drugs, organic solar cells, and semiconductor memories. The antimicrobial activities of these compounds have also been tested.
