Abstract

/\ II I1\ c/H,(D) CG (E) cyclohexene (D). Structure (B) was eliminated since it should have displayed acetylene reactions and possessed a reactive chlorine atom, neither of which it did. To decide between structures (C) and (D) the product was ozonized. Acids would result from either structure but (C) alone should give rise to cyclohexanone. Since cyclohexanone was not found, structure (C) was eliminated and (D) alone remained for consideration. It is ...
