Fluorination of trialkylstannylindoles with caesium fluoroxysulfate or Selectfluor was investigated for the synthesis of inter-alia 2- and 3-fluoroindoles. Caesium fluoroxysulfate gave good yields of these potentially useful intermediates; Selectfluor provided lower yields.
