Abstract

17-Hydroxy-3-methoxy-19-nor-17a-pregna-1, 3, 5 (10), 20-te-traene-2021-dicarboxylic Acid Anhydride (6). An 8 N chromic acid solution (6.55 ml) was added slowly to a solution of 3a (500 mg) in acetone (25 ml) at 10-12O. After stirring for 15 min at room temperature, the excess oxidant was decomposed by the addition of i-PrOH. H20 was added and the solution was evaporated almost to dryness.
