Abstract

Metal-catalyzed selective oxidation of organic substrates under mild conditions, with dioxygen or air as the sole terminal oxidant, is an economic and green methodology for the synthesis of epoxides, alcohols, ketones, and aldehydes.[1] For catalytic oxidation of 1- alkenes to aldehydes without C= C bond cleavage (Reaction (1), Scheme1), a widely known industrial process is the Wacker oxidation of ethylene to acetaldehyde catalyzed by PdCl2 ...
