Abstract

A sequential multicomponent process involving the high-speed vibration milling of ketones with N-iodosuccinimide and p-toluenesulfonic acid, followed by addition of a mixture of primary amines, β-dicarbonyl compounds, cerium (IV) ammonium nitrate and silver nitrate afforded polysubstituted, functionalized pyrroles.
