A series of 4-sulphamoylphenyl semicarbazone derivatives were prepared starting from sulphanilamide and screened for anticonvulsant activity. The results indicated that greater protection was obtained in the maximal electroshock screen (MES) and subcutaneous strychnine (scSTY) than the subcutaneous pentylenetetrazole (scPTZ) tests.
