Abstract

Abstract Several derivatives of 1, 4-naphthoquinone and naphthazarin, bearing one or two aziridinyl groups were synthesized, and their cytotoxic activity was evaluated on HeLa S 3 cells in tissue culture. Three of these compounds were found to be active (ED 50< 0.1 μg/ml). Compounds bearing two aziridinyl substituents were less active than their corresponding monoaziridinyl-substituted derivatives.
