Abstract

The ionisation equilibria of diarylmethyl chlorides Ar2 CHCl (Ar= p-CH 3 0-C 6 H 4, p-PhO- C6 H4, p-CH3-C6 H4) reacting with BC13 in CH2 C12 to give ion-pairs Ar2 CH+ BCLr (K {), and the dissociation of these (ΚΌ) were studied by conductimetry and spectro-photometry.
