Abstract

Summary A conjugate of pantothenic acid (abbr. PAC) has been obtained in partially purified form from pork heart. It appears to be roughly twice as active for the growth of A. suboxydans as is the free vitamin. Growth of this organism is also more rapid with the conjugate than with pantothenic acid. The present conjugate is different from coenzyme A, the alkali-stable form of pantothenic acid or the protein conjugate found in blood.
