Abstract

2770 IFFLAND AND CERDA VOL. 28 lar hydrazones were found to consume lead tetraacetate readily under conditions used in the reactions with monosubstituted hydrazones. Nevertheless, the isolation of reaction products was not achieved until after discovery that a stoichiometry of two to one (lead tetraacetate to hydrazone) was involved in this new reaction.
