Abstract

COLONGE and GUYOT showed that 3-bromo-4-chromanone (111) reacts with diethylamine in aqueous suspension at room temperature to give a bright yellow crystalline solid which they formulated as 3-diethylamino-4-chromanone. On refluxing with 6~-hydrochloric acid for
