Abstract

Abstract We describe the unexpected behavior of the arylsulfonylacetylenes, which suffer an “anti-Michael” addition of organolithiums producing their alkynylation under very mild conditions. The broad scope, excellent yields, and simplicity of the experimental procedure are the main features of this methodology.
