Abstract

Trypanothione reductase (TR) occurs exclusively in trypanosomes and leishmania, which are the etiological agents of many diseases. TR plays a vital role in the antioxidant defenses of these parasites and inhibitors of TR have potential as antitrypanosomal agents.
