制法1 在纯氧中加热纯净的硒,并使生成的蒸气通过一加热的铂石棉层,或者让硒在含有痕量二氧化氮的氧中加热。在温度接近于500℃时,硒开始燃烧生成SeO2,并产生淡蓝色的火焰。燃烧反应通过调节氧气的流量来进行控制。产物为雪白色的针状结晶。若要制取少量极纯净的二氧化硒,建议使用高纯硒(杂质含量应低于10-5%)同高纯氧在密封的装置中进行反应。

制法2 在容积为1L的耐高温玻璃圆底烧瓶中,加入100g纯净的亚硒酸。将烧瓶放在砂浴上加热并抽真空(保持压力不低于13.3kPa),在200~250℃的温度下加热数小时,此时二氧化硒便渐渐升华到烧瓶的上部。
