由安息香（即二苯基羟基乙酮或称苯偶姻，[579-44-2]）在锌汞齐存在下脱水而得。先制备锌汞齐，将其加入乙醇及安息香中，然后在搅拌下滴加盐酸，保持温度15℃。2h加完，再继续搅拌2h，加入冷水，然后滤出沉淀，用热乙醇提取，冷却，结晶，再用乙醇重结晶而得成品。
