Under microwave irradiation steroidal enones, more specifically, position three carbonyls were efficiently and selectively converted to the corresponding enol acetates in the presence of additional enolizable carbonyl functions at other positions, using acetic anhydride and a catalytic amount of toluene-p-sulfonic acid.
