Mixed homocuprates [(MeSOCHzCuR) Li] and [(MeSOCH, CuR) Li (LiCN)] in which the anion of dimethyl sulfoxide acts as a nontransferable ligand are readily prepared from MeSOCH2Li, alkyl-or aryllithium reagents, and Cu (I) salts.
