A simple synthesis of 1, 3-selenazolidine-2-thiones from NaHSe and 2-halogenethyl isothiocyanates was worked out. The corresponding thiazolidine-2-thiones, as model substances, were prepared by an analogous reaction from NaHS and 2-halogenethyl isothiocyanates. The structure of products was deduced from Raman, IR and mass spectral data.
