Results Each of these esters was allowed to solvolyze in the indicated solvent and the course of reaction was followed by titrating the liberated p-toluenesulfonic acid. The solvolysis reactions of cyclopropylcarbinyl tosylate in 90% acetone and sulfolane demonstrated the previously reported" internal return" rearrangement2 which accounted for about 15y0 of the starting material.
