摘要

Earlier we showed [1] that the spectral3luminescent and photochemical properties of chalcone derivatives are much dependent on the nuture of substituents in the styryl moiety. On the other hand, we found that the benzamide and nitro groups in the ketone moiety exhibit inhibiting effect, and this finding is consistent with data of Tsukerman et al. [2, 3] who reported that the CO group in a,b-unsaturated ketones does not completely destroy conjugation.
