The synthesis is reported of eight pyridine–, benzothiazole–and benzimidazole–rhodanine zeromethine merocyanines as blue–sensitising dyes (1–8), and of three benzoxazole- rhodanine dimethine merocyanines as green-sensitising dyes (9–11).
