Polystyrene-bound diaryl selenoxide and telluroxide have been prepared, which behaved as mild oxidizing agents for thiols to disulfides, phosphines to phosphine oxides, hydroquinone and catechol to p-and o-benzoquinones, and thioketones to oxo compounds.
