• We systematically examined the relation between Coenzyme Q (CoQ) and growth in C. elegans. • Novel molecular targets differentially expressed by endogenous (clk-1 mutants) or exogenous CoQ are provided. • The promotion of growth by CoQ in C. elegans is linked to gene expression.
