Abstract Oxaspiropentanes have been obtained from α-metallocyclopropyl phenyl selenones and carbonyl compounds and on reaction of a base with β-hydroxyalkyl cyclopropyl selenones. The original reactivity of other β-hydroxyalkyl selenones is also disclosed.
