Abstract The Au (I)-catalyzed cyclization of hydroxyallylic ethers to form tetrahydropyrans is reported. Employing (acetonitrile)[(o-biphenyl) di-tert-butylphosphine] gold (I) hexafluoroantimonate, the cyclization reactions were complete within minutes to hours, depending on the substrate.
