Abstract The structure of 2, 2-dibutyl-1, 3, 2-dithiastannolane in the solid state has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Individual molecules interact weakly with two neighbouring molecules to form two long (3.688 Å) Sn S coordinate bonds. The tin atoms can therefore be regarded as being weakly 6-coordinate.
