Abstract The synthesis and structure of the new disilane-1, 2-diol [(Me 3 Si) 2 SiOH] 2 (2b) and the trinuclear zinc disiloxides of the formula [Me 2 Si {(Me 3 Si) 2 SiO} 2] 2 Zn 3 Me 2 (3a),[{(Me 3 Si) 2 SiO} 2] 2 Zn 3 Me 2 (3b) and [E-{Me (Me 3 Si) 3 SiSiO} 2] 2 Zn 3 Me 2 (3c) are reported.
