Poly (anthryacetylenes) bearing oligooxyethylene units were synthesized from 10-ethynyl-9- [3, 6-dioxaheptyl] oxycarbonylanthracene (1) and 10-ethynyl-9-[3, 6, 9, 12-tetraoxatridecyl] oxycarbonylanthracene (2) by using a transition metal catalyst, WCl6, in 30% and 34% yields, respectively.
