Abstract The 9, 10-dihydro-9-silaanthracene framework generated from (o-ClMgC 6 H 4) 2 CH 2 and a dichlorosilane provides the starting point for formation of derivatives which contain a tricyclic skeleton and a three-atom side chain terminated by a nitrogen group bonded to the central ring of the framework.
