Bis {2-(dimethylphosphino) ethane-1-thiolato} complexes Ni (II), Pd (II), and Pt (II) were newly prepared, and the molecular structure of the Ni (II) complex was determined by X-ray analysis to have a square planar trans (P, P) geometrical configuration. The 1 H, 13 C, and 31 P NMR spectra of the complexes in CDCl 3 indicate a trans (P, P) structure for the nickel (II) and palladium (II) complexes and a cis (P, P) one for the platinum (II) complex.
